Jonathan Korol, Chief Executive Officer

Jonathan joined American Hotel Income Properties REIT LP as Chief Executive Officer in October 2020. Previously, Mr. Korol was President at SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts (“SilverBirch”). At SilverBirch, Jonathan oversaw one of Canada’s largest hotel owner/operators with a portfolio of close to 5,000 guest rooms operated under internationally recognized brands. Before becoming President at SilverBirch, he led their Investment & Portfolio Management team as Senior Vice President, where he managed all of the firm’s acquisition, disposition, development and asset management activities. Before joining SilverBirch, Mr. Korol co-founded Amadeus Property Partners, a private real estate investment fund focused on investing in select-service hotels and retail and multi-family properties in gateway markets throughout North America. He spent the formative part of his career at Apollo Real Estate Advisors (now Ares Management), where he was a Vice President focusing on equity and debt investing in all property types. Jonathan started his professional career as an Investment Banker with Merrill Lynch. He holds a B.Comm from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.

Travis Beatty, Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Beatty joined American Hotel Income Properties as Chief Financial Officer in June of 2021. He was previously the CFO of Northview Apartment REIT ("Northview") from 2016 to 2020. Northview was a Canadian public REIT focused on multi-family residential real estate across Canada. Northview owned a portfolio of 26,500 units prior to being sold for $4.9 billion in the fourth quarter of 2020. Prior to Northview, Mr. Beatty spent a number of years in various roles including CFO at OPTI Canada Inc. ("OPTI"), an energy infrastructure company designed to commercialize an upgrading technology. OPTI underwent a significant growth period followed by a series of complex financial transactions through the global financial crisis, ultimately leading to its sale in 2011 for US$2.1 billion. Mr. Beatty holds a B.Comm from the University of Calgary, is a KPMG alumni, and is both a Chartered Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Bruce Pittet, Senior Vice President, Asset Management, & COO

Mr. Pittet is responsible for AHIP’s hotel profitability by working closely with its independent hotel manager; leading the company’s hotel renovations program – including the allocation of reserve capital towards hotel projects; and brand relations with AHIP’s hotel brand partners: Hilton, Marriott, IHG, Choice and Wyndham Hotels. Bruce and the Asset Management team also play an instrumental role in assessing hotel and market opportunities to ensure AHIP’s properties are located in desirable markets, and that the company has the right hotel offering to maximize revenue opportunities.

Mr. Pittet is a seasoned hospitality executive, with more than 30 years of hotel management, planning and operating experience across North America, with the last 20 years spent in the U.S.  Bruce has hotel experience in, and has completed extensive market analysis of, over 100 U.S. markets, and has been a leader of multiple major property launches, turnarounds and re-positioning initiatives. For the past six years, Mr. Pittet was Senior Vice President at ONE Lodging, which is now part of Aimbridge Hospitality – North America’s largest hotel management company and AHIP’s independent hotel manager.  As a result, Bruce has already gained intimate knowledge of AHIP’s hotel portfolio, its markets and its brand relationships.  Previously, Mr. Pittet completed hotel development and operations consulting work for Starwood Development; held various roles at Intrawest, including General Manager/Vice President for Snowshoe Mountain and later, Regional Vice President of Lodging – where he oversaw the operations and development of 12 Intrawest resort lodging business across North America and Europe.

Anne Yu, VP, Finance

Ms. Yu serves as the Vice President of Finance and has been with American Hotel Income Properties REIT LP since the company’s inception in 2013. Ms. Yu Directs all aspects of accounting operations, overseeing all transactions and financial reporting. Ms. Yu began her time with AHIP as Director of Finance where she was an integral part of AHIP’s successful CAD$100.1 million initial public offering in February 2013. Her deep-rooted financial expertise helped the company exceed their initial market goal. Ms. Yu has more than 15 years of accounting and finance experience, with a focus on financial reporting, internal controls, corporate finance and Canadian and US tax. Prior to her tenure at AHIP, Ms. Yu worked as Controller and Manager of Financial Reporting of Sterling Shoes Inc. and Controller of Ventyx Software Solutions Inc. (formerly Mobile Data Solutions Inc.). Prior to that, Ms. Yu held the position of Manager in the Assurance and Business Advisory Group for PwC Vancouver. Ms. Yu is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA).

Martin Pinsker, Senior Director, Investments

Martin Pinsker has been with American Hotel Income Properties REIT LP (“AHIP”) since the company’s inception in 2013 and presently serves as Senior Director, Investments.

Mr. Pinsker is responsible for identifying hotel investment opportunities and completing commercial real estate transactions. Prior to joining AHIP, Mr. Pinsker held the position of Hospitality Asset Management Associate at TriMont Real Estate Advisors, a leading commercial real estate servicer.

Mr. Pinsker graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University and is a lifetime member of the Cornell Hotel Society.

Edward Chang, Managing Director, Real Estate

Edward joined American Hotel Income Properties REIT LP as Managing Director, Real Estate in June 2021. Edward leads AHIP’s portfolio expansion efforts while providing asset management oversight of the Company’s existing properties. Previously, Edward served on the European leadership and real estate teams at Sonder and was based in London, UK. Edward was ultimately responsible for the underwriting function at Sonder for all UK and EU deals. Prior to Sonder, Edward oversaw asset management and investments at SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts based in Vancouver, BC and led the deal team for the company’s sale in 2017. Edward began his career as an analyst within the hospitality platform of Goldman Sachs based in Dallas, TX. He graduated from The School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University in 2011 and is a CFA charterholder.
